Terms of Use

Effective October 2, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Sidebar Interactive LLC (“we,” “us”) and govern your use of the settled.social website and the Settled mobile app (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. What Settled is, and isn’t

Settled helps people resolve everyday, non-legal disagreements by presenting both sides to a jury of invited participants or to an AI Judge. Verdicts, votes, summaries, and AI output are opinions for entertainment. They are not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice, and they are not binding on anyone. Do not use Settled for legal disputes or claims.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use Settled. You’re responsible for your account and for activity under it. Provide accurate information and keep your Apple Account secure.

3. Community rules

You agree not to post or do anything that:

• Harasses, bullies, threatens, demeans, or intimidates anyone, inside or outside a case.
• Shares someone else’s private information, such as addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, or private messages they didn’t agree to share (“doxxing”).
• Accuses anyone of a crime, or involves criminal matters, legal claims, or ongoing legal proceedings.
• Contains hate speech, sexual content, graphic violence, or content involving minors.
• Includes a person who hasn’t agreed to take part, or misrepresents who you are.
• Infringes anyone’s intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Promotes self-harm, illegal activity, spam, or scams.
• Attempts to manipulate votes, create fake accounts, or interfere with the Services.

4. Moderation, reporting, and blocking

We screen content using automated tools and human review, and we may remove content or suspend accounts that break these Terms. You can report any case, comment, or user in the app or by emailing hello@settled.social. We review reports within 24 hours. You can block any user, and blocked users can’t invite you to cases or see your activity.

5. Your content

You own the content you submit. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process it, including with AI services, only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Services. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons or that other participants have already shared outside Settled. You’re responsible for having the right to post what you submit.

6. Our Services

We own the Settled app, website, name, logo, and design. You may use the Services only as these Terms allow. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Some features may require payment in the future. If so, prices and terms will be shown before you buy, and purchases will be processed by Apple under its terms.

7. Ending your use

You may stop using Settled and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we need to in order to protect other users or comply with the law.

8. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee that verdicts, summaries, or AI output are accurate or fair, or that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sidebar Interactive LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or relationships, arising from your use of the Services or any verdict. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Sidebar Interactive LLC against claims arising from content you submit or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

12. Apple

If you downloaded Settled from the App Store, these Terms are between you and Sidebar Interactive LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we’ll update the effective date and notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Settled after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
